Setup
Install the plugin, set up a project and find your files: everything you need before typing “let's start”.
Where to use it
| Where | How it works |
|---|---|
| Cowork, in the Claude desktop app recommended | Claude reads and writes files on its own, in a folder on your computer. Scheduled tasks work too. |
| Chat, with a Project claude.ai, desktop or phone app | The plugin works, but Claude can't change the Project's files: it gives you the updated file and you replace it. |
| Claude Code | For terminal users. Claude works in the folder where you start it. |
A paid Claude subscription is recommended (Pro or higher). Plugin skills and Cowork may not be available on the free plan, and some features use a lot: above all creating the map, where Claude reads all your files and builds a full page. Within the limits of the free plan the work may stop halfway.
1. Install the plugin
You install the plugin once and it stays on your account: you'll find it in chat, in Cowork and in Claude Code.
On claude.ai or in the Claude app, open Customize and then Plugins.
Choose Add → Add marketplace and type:
sarahdipiero/neuropsicologaNeuropsicologa appears in the list: open it and choose Add.
To get new versions, choose Check for updates on the marketplace, or turn on Sync automatically.
With Claude Code
/plugin marketplace add sarahdipiero/neuropsicologa
/plugin install neuropsicologa@neuropsicologa2. Create a project in Cowork
A Cowork project bundles a folder on your computer, instructions for Claude and a memory that carries over between sessions. It's the easiest way to use Neuropsicologa: every time you open the project, Claude finds your files.
In the desktop app open Cowork and, in the left sidebar, Projects → +.
Choose Start from scratch for a new folder, or Use an existing folder.
Give it a name, for example Neuropsicologa, and a short description.
Paste the text below into the project's instructions (optional, see the explanation).
Open the project and type let's start.
3. Project instructions
Are they necessary? No: the plugin starts on its own when you type “let's start” or when Claude finds your record in the folder. They are recommended, though, for two reasons:
- if you've installed other plugins or skills, for example for writing, Claude might pick those instead of Neuropsicologa;
- they remind Claude, every session, to pick up from your record and save everything in that folder.
Text to paste into the project instructions:
In this project, work with the Neuropsicologa plugin.
- At the start of every conversation, follow the neuropsicologa skill: look for clinical-record.md in the project folder and pick up from there.
- Save all files in this project's folder.
- For the texts I write, use only the scriviamo skill from the Neuropsicologa plugin, not other writing skills.
- Don't use other plugins or skills unless I ask you to.Instructions guide Claude, but they don't turn other plugins off. To be sure they don't step in, disable them from Customize → Plugins while you use Neuropsicologa.
4. Where your files are
In Cowork your files are in the project's folder, on your computer. Open it from Finder (Mac) or File Explorer (Windows); any text editor can read them. After a few sessions the folder looks roughly like this:
Archiving a Cowork project doesn't delete the folder: your files stay where they are.
In a chat Project (claude.ai) your files are in the Project's Files section. Claude reads them but can't change them: when something changes, it sends you the updated file. You download it, delete the old version from the Project and upload the new one.
This is health information. Keep it in a folder that's only yours, and think before sharing it or syncing it to outside services.
